Victorian Government Announces New EV Charging Network
The Victorian Government has committed $180 million to a state-wide fast-charging network, promising a 350kW charger within 100km of every regional town by 2028.
The network will be operated by a consortium of private providers under a regulated pricing framework, capping costs at 55 cents per kWh for DC fast charging.
The announcement follows criticism that regional EV infrastructure has lagged behind metropolitan areas, with many rural drivers citing range anxiety as their primary barrier to going electric.
